The buddy system

The baduk-school adopts a so called buddy-system. You can give specific users or groups certain extra priveleges, depending on their status. To this end we adopt the following statuses:

  1. User: neutral status, every user has this status by default.
  2. Buddy: a friend
  3. Blocked: a user you have blocked

Priveleges and displaying information

Depending on their status users can view specific information about you, contact you, see your agenda, send you messages, invite you for a game or a lesson, etc.

These priveleges are handled intuitively in the following way:

1: You can specify if standard users can view your profile or conatct you
2: You can invite users to be buddies, giving them the right to view your profile and contact you
3: Users rights are cumulative, in the sense that a user with a higher status automatically gets all the rights granted to users with a lower one, the rank being from low to high: blocked, user, classmate, buddy.
4: A blocked user can see only your public information, and has no priveleges.

This system is reciprocal, i.e. if another user has made you a buddy, you will get the additional priveleges this user has granted buddies.

These features greatly help in finding students to join you for classes and group lessons, exchanging information, finding players for a game, etc. In short it will greatly enhance your benefit from using the baduk-school!
