The buddy system
The baduk-school adopts a so called buddy-system. You can give specific users or groups certain extra priveleges, depending on their status. To this end we adopt the following statuses:
- User: neutral status, every user has this status by default.
- Buddy: a friend
- Blocked: a user you have blocked
Priveleges and displaying information
Depending on their status users can view specific information about you, contact you, see your agenda, send you messages, invite you for a game or a lesson, etc.
These priveleges are handled intuitively in the following way:
1: You can specify if standard users can view your profile or conatct you
2: You can invite users to be buddies, giving them the right to view your profile and contact you
3: Users rights are cumulative, in the sense that a user with a higher status automatically gets all the rights granted to users with a lower one, the rank being from low to high: blocked, user, classmate, buddy.
4: A blocked user can see only your public information, and has no priveleges.
This system is reciprocal, i.e. if another user has made you a buddy, you will get the additional priveleges this user has granted buddies.
The table below list the most important features you can autorise:
| Service/Information | Explanation |
|---|---|
| Personal profile | See your personal page, email, and additional personal information | Contact | See your online status, send a message | Agenda | See your online agenda | Invite | Invite you for lessons, games, etc |
These features greatly help in finding students to join you for classes and group lessons, exchanging information, finding players for a game, etc. In short it will greatly enhance your benefit from using the baduk-school!
